Adjustment of height of a pedal of a brake over a floor

Remove a rug of a floor and measure pedal height over a floor (fig. 6.1). If the pedal height does not correspond to norm, execute adjustment, as set forth below.
Pedal height over hollow 182,1 (+5,0) mm.
Separate a contact socket of the switch of a signal of braking, turn away a lock nut of the switch of a signal of braking and wrap it so that it did not concern the lever of a pedal of a brake.

Turn away a lock nut of a pusher and adjust height of a pedal of a brake over a floor in the specified limits for what reduce or increase length of a pusher, rotating it пассатижами (fig. 6.2).
Rotation of the switch of a signal of braking establish a backlash between its pusher and an emphasis of a pedal within 0,5–1,0 mm. Reliably tighten a lock nut of the switch the moment 8–10 Н·м.

       THE NOTE
The course of a pedal of a brake should make not less than 130 mm.

At a deviation of a course of a pedal from norm repeat adjustment of height of a pedal and a backlash between the switch of a signal of braking and a pedal emphasis.
Connect a contact socket of the switch of a signal of braking.
Be convinced that at отпускании pedals of a brake the braking signal dies away.
At the idle engine dump depression in the vacuum amplifier, two-three times having pressed a brake pedal, and hand pressing check up a free wheeling of a pedal of a brake.
The free wheeling of a pedal of a brake should make 3–8 mm.
If a free wheeling of a pedal less than the specified bottom limit, be convinced of conformity to norm of a backlash between a pusher of the switch of a signal of braking and an emphasis of a pedal of a brake.
If the free wheeling of a pedal more than the specified top limit, means, the backlash between an axis and the lever of a pedal of a brake is too great. Check up a technical condition of these details and if necessary replace them.

Check of a technical condition and working capacity of elements of brake system
Check of a hydrodrive of brakes
At the working engine press a pedal of a brake with effort approximately 120 кгс. Check up on presence of leaks the main brake cylinder, a hydrodrive of brakes and each connection.

Check of work of the vacuum amplifier of brakes without application of devices
For simple check of work of the vacuum amplifier it is necessary to execute the following.
Start up the engine, allow to it to work 1–2 mines and stop. Some times press a pedal of a brake with normal effort. If the pedal leaves downwards at the first
Pressing, but gradually rises by the second or third pressing, the amplifier of brakes is serviceable. If the pedal height does not vary, the amplifier is faulty.
At the idle engine some times press a pedal of a brake and check up change of height of a pedal. After that press a pedal and start up the engine. If thus the pedal leaves downwards a little, the amplifier is serviceable. If the pedal height remains former, the amplifier is faulty.
At the working engine press a pedal of a brake and stop the engine. Keep a pedal of a brake pressed during 30 with. If during this time the pedal height does not change, the amplifier is serviceable. If the pedal rises, the amplifier is faulty.
If at one of the specified ways of check malfunction has been defined, check up a vacuum hose and the amplifier, eliminate malfunctions. If results of all checks positive, the amplifier is serviceable.

Check of work of the return valve of the vacuum amplifier of brakes
Check spend on the return valve established in a vacuum hose.

Remove a vacuum hose of the amplifier of brakes (fig. 6.3).

       THE NOTE
The return valve is established with a tightness in a vacuum hose on adjusting labels.

Check up work of the return valve by means of the vacuum pump.

THE PREVENTION
In case of malfunction of the return valve replace it in gathering with a vacuum hose.

Removal of air from a hydrodrive of brakes (prorolling)

Remove a stopper of a tank of a hydrodrive of brakes and add a brake liquid (fig. 6.4).

THE PREVENTION
At hit of a brake liquid on a paint and varnish covering of a body immediately смойте it.

       THE NOTE
At removal of air from a hydrodrive under pressure do not press a brake pedal.

Attach a vinyl hose to the union for prorolling on the wheel cylinder, lower other end of a hose in capacity with a brake liquid (fig. 6.5).
Some times press a brake pedal.
At the pedal pressed to the full weaken an inhaling of the union for prorolling until through a hose the brake liquid will not start to follow, then tighten the union.
Repeat listed above action until in a liquid following from the brake cylinder there will be no air vials.
Tighten the prorolling union.
The moment of an inhaling of unions of prorolling 7–13 Н·м.
Execute the specified operations on other wheel cylinders in a following order: a back right wheel (in a direction of movement of the car), a forward left wheel, a back left wheel, a forward right wheel.

Adjustment of the lever of a drive of lay brake system  
After prorolling of a hydrodrive of brakes of 20 times press a pedal of a brake with effort more than 10 кгс.
More than three times to the full tighten the lever of a drive of a lay brake.

At lifting the lever should move on 6–8 teeth of sector (the point of the appendix of effort should settle down on distance of 25 mm from a lever end face). At moving  on большее or smaller number of a teeth of sector adjust a lever course (fig. 6.6).
The control lamp of inclusion of a lay brake dies away at full deenergizing of a brake and lights up at lever lifting on one tooth of sector. If the switch does not operate, as is specified, replace it.
Upon termination of adjustment be convinced of absence притормаживания back wheels at completely lowered lever of a drive of a lay brake.
